Back housing replacement is applied when it is severely damaged beyond restoration, such as being extensively bent or broken to the extent that a proper screen replacement cannot be performed without further damage during the process.

It is applied also on cases where the metal frame of the phone is severely damaged or cracked, making it impossible to replace only the back glass or the screen.
